Refered to as a megacity, Mexico City is surrounded by volcanoes and was built in a drained lake basin originally lake Texacoco. From studying population sizes I know Mexico city to be one of the most populated cities on earth. How easy it is to forget what 8.6 million people look like.
Ruiz gives a really good perspective of Mexico and Mexico city with his photos of sprawl, development and many unique buildings. It is incredible to think of the massive population and how that must affect both the environment and the level of poverty in the region. Hopefully Ruiz will continue to update his site and we'll be able to get look at more photos in the near future.
